Walters Bay thrives on transparency. Our Estate-Direct Model means you buy directly from the grower. This model not only guarantees the quality of our teas, but also allows for Origin Traceability. Our customers can track our teas through every step of the process, from growing, to hand-plucking, to production, to packaging.


Walters Bay cares about the environment. We’ve taken a number of steps to reduce our carbon footprint. These include using hydro-electric power at our production facilities and forgoing the use of agricultural machinery for harvesting.


Walters Bay empowers workers. Our estate workers enjoy benefits and conditions that far exceed those of other developing nations. In addition to enforcing strict child labor laws, we provide healthcare, schooling, housing, and living wages for our workers and their families. Our award-winning teas reflect this commitment.

Tharindu Madhawa Padmabandu Assistant Manager - Projects & Quality System Certifications

He is a graduate from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka where he specialized in Food Science & Technology. He has followed a lead auditor training in ISO 22000. Furthermore, he has trained in FSSC:22000, ISO 9001 & ISO 18001. The knowledge he has gained by his Degree in the field of Food Science and Technology, work experience in the certification processes of Organic certification, FSSC:22000, Global GAP, CSR projects and his enthusiastic energy are his biggest strengths in the process of empowering the growers.
